The other weekend, Beth showed me a posh grocery store in Sloan Square. She took me there, because in the back of the store, there is an "American" corner where they sell imported American food.
There she was.... Old Glory hanging behind a stack of Dunkin Hines, Aunt Jemima, and Cheerios. You must really be craving Cheerios to pay £7.99 per box! Based on today's exchange rate of 1.883 (glad I'm being paid in pounds), that's $15.05 per box! It's not even the Sam's Club size.
Today's word (phrase) of the day:
"Have a go"
Used in the context of; "Shall we have a go at it?"

Same thing in the USA for imported British foods.
Yeah, so please tell me you're enjoying Jaffa Cakes while you can! :)
Yeah but nobody wants those imports Charles.
Moon Pie?
Do they import moon pies? More importantly, are there any Food Bags accross the pond?
no food bags.
but they do have a desert called "spotted dick"
Charles - any comments regarding that?
Spotted Dick is good!!
Steamed puddings with custard (this includes Xmas pudding) are one of the few foodstuffs I really miss.
Another is Heinz Baked Beans (American baked beans suck) but we can get them in the International Section of the Super Stop & Shop in White Plains. This excellent store also has Paxo Sage & Onion stuffing and a variety of biscuits.
Jaffa Cakes are another. I'm going to brings seeds over from my next trip back so I can plant a Jaffa Cake Tree at home.
Recommend you try Eccles Cakes and, when you are in Scotland, get some crumpets. Scots crumpets are quite different from English ones and much better. Also in Scotland, Tattie Scones. Put them under the grill and serve with butter or honey.
What do you think of British bacon? So much better than the American variety which is all fat and no meat is it not?
