The Tube circa 8:30AM.... packed.

Imagine no air conditioning. That freshly showered feeling in the morning disappears very quickly. I've now figured out why the English don't wear under shirts. Who needs another layer?

Having worked in New York for many years, I think I qualify as someone who can compare the New York subway to the London Underground. I find the maps, signs, announcements, frequency of the trains and overall friendliness of the transit workers significantly better in London than in New York. But New York has air conditioning.. a massive plus in the summer. Both systems were built around 100 years ago.... Why did NY figure out how to install A/C while London did not?

Work of the day:

"Bonnet"

The opposite of yesterday's post - The hood of a car

Probably because you only need it on two days a year in London.

I've already counted about 25 days this summer.

Wow, no A/C...that certainly sounds quite uncomfortable when everyone is packed in like sardines...
