Vienna and Prague (Vienna for now...)

As mentioned on my last post, we took a long weekend... errr, six day break to Vienna and Prague. Both cities were equally impressive. Vienna is a city immersed in its history as the art and music capital of its time... Prague is known for its well preserved medieval and Bohemian style.

Highlights we enjoyed in Vienna included Mozart's The Magic Flute Opera, Vienna Boys Choir, and the Famous Spanish Riding School

For now, the Vienna pictures.

Early morning heavies at Heathrow

Now that's funny... the sign and the car.
St. Stephen's Cathedral - most of what you see was built in 1511

Magic Kingdom? Actually it's Vienna's city hall (the Rathaus)
One of the museums that is part of the famous Hofburg Imperial Palace

The famous National Opera House

Not as famous - The Volksopera where we saw Mozart's "The Magic Flute"... (I love German singing with no sub-titles)

OPEC - Blame them.
The Town Hall

Austrian Sausage Lady

Statue to commemorate Mozart

Horse and Buggy
Sausage (though not from Sausage Lady per above)

Spanish Riding School - no pics allowed during the show
Maybe I need some culturing... but I struggled with the display of this man's work... I recall getting a C in 4th grade art class for stuff that looked like this. Check this out.

Beer Garden in Vienna - part of a festival that we attended
Beth and her brother enjoying some fried apple (I think it was called Fragubadadajhjhjh)
